Associate Principal, Operations Report

Anzac Day
The College was well represented at ANZAC commemorations on Wednesday of this week.
Twenty-one students joined the Hamilton March and watched Claudia Roberts, Toby Hawthorne, Olivia Rees and Harry Austin lay the School’s wreath at the cenotaph.
All were dignified and respectful of the occasion. They were excellent representatives. Thank you Claudia, Toby, Seth, Nyah, Katya, Lauren, Nikita, Hannah, Tane, Ferg, Tom, Liam, Grace, Jack, Lucy, Jacob, Hamish, Ava, Olivia, Amelie and Harry.
Earlier, a group of boarders attended the Dawn Service in Hamilton and joined another large crowd of people acknowledging the service and sacrifice of our Servicemen and Women.
In addition, I know that Sami Zehir delivered an address at the Port Fairy commemorations, that Alec Jagger contributed musically at Balmoral and Amy Waters continued the tradition she commenced in Year 7 and laid a wreath for her school at Coleraine. No doubt there were others involved in their local communities.
Well done to all.
School Photographs
The official school photographs will be taken at both campuses on Friday May 4th. Year level group and individual portrait photographs will be taken at Years 6-12, as will House photos. At the Junior School, each class group will be photographed and individual portraits taken. This year photographs will again be taken by Arthur Reed Photographs.
As order envelopes for class/year level and individual photographs have only just been received at school, we were unable to issue them prior to the holidays as usual.
Order envelopes may be collected from the reception desks at Chaucer Street or Myrniong once school resumes (or from Chaucer Street immediately).
Increasingly, many parents choose to order directly on-line and, given the lateness of receipt of envelopes this year, we encourage you to do so this year if possible. Photographs will be printed on a "pay as you order system" but all students will be photographed in their class/year group, so late orders should be possible.
Arthur Reed’s electronic address is:

PLEASE ENSURE YOU ORDER ONLINE (school code: 1805TH607 is Senior School; 1805TH268 is Junior School) BY MIDNIGHT ON MAY 3rd OR collect arrange to an envelope from the reception desks and SEND YOUR ORDER WITH PAYMENT TO THE SCHOOL ON PHOTO DAY. If not ordering online, students may return an order envelope to Mrs. O’Shannessy at the Senior School or to their class teacher at the Junior School earlier in the term to avoid cases where it is forgotten at the last minute!
Prices and discounts are explained online and on the order envelopes.
Family discounts are available only online.
FAMILY PHOTOGRAPHS may also be ordered. These photos are for instances where parents wish to order a photograph of all members of their family who attend the College together. There are order envelopes at the school office but, again, we recommend ordering online directly from Arthur Reed (if you have children at both parts of the school, please use the Senior School code – see above). Please ensure the College is aware you have ordered a family photograph so we can make any transport arrangements or chase up forgetful or reluctant children! Please note that, if the order is not made prior to photo day, families will not be photographed.
There is no obligation to purchase photographs and a Money Back Guarantee is offered by Arthur Reed Photographs. A FULL REFUND IS GUARANTEED IF DISSATISFIED - simply return photographs within 7 (seven) days.
Finally, written permission will be needed to allow the transportation of any children from the Early Learning Centre for family photographs. Please ensure this is provided to Mr Stephen Nelson if you wish your ELC child included in a family photograph.
