Safety At Drop-Off in the Morning
Parents - We are reaching out to you to get increased support for a safer morning entry routine. We need your help.
KISS N' RIDE & PARKING OPTIONS
Thank you to all of the parents who have been using the Kiss N' Ride as well as parking and crossing legally in the neighbourhood. We need everyone's assistance to foster a safer environment.
STAFF PARKING LOT REMINDERS
The staff parking lot on Sutherland is only for staff and we ask that all parents/guardians please refrain from using it to park or drop off at any point in the day.
DAYCARE PARKING LOT REMINDERS
In an effort support pedestrian safety on and around the school grounds, past practice (from the 2016-2017 school year) with the daycare lot continues. The school lot used by the daycare will not be available between 8:30 am - 9:00 am. We appreciate your understanding and support.
We are working with Councillor Jon Burnside's office as well as parent and student representatives to review what is in place and discuss revisions that will enhance student safety and the walkability of the Northlea neighbourhood.
Ideally, students are walking to school. Walking to school builds community, increases student confidence and activity levels and it leads to a safer environment around the school.
Below are two worthwhile resources that highlight numerous immediate and long-term benefits of walking to school.
Given that the majority of our students live within our catchment area, we encourage you to consider walking to school on a daily basis and, at a minimum, parking at least a block away to reduce congestion directly around the school.
