NPS Poetry Slam!

Poetry is a fantastic way to express emotions through writing.

Over fifty different types of poetry exist.

Everyone can find a poet who’s name they recognise – Shakespeare, Frost, Wordsworth perhaps?

The most popular poetry types include haiku, free verse, sonnets, and acrostic poems.

Our students are becoming poets this term while participating in our Reading and Writing Workshops across the school. The crème de la crème – the best of the best – student poems are being displayed on our Poetry Slam wall in the Library for all to see and learn from.

But it’s not just the students who are delving into the art of poetry; our teacher’s are trying their hand at it too. Just outside the Staff Room you’ll find a Teacher’s Slam Wall. Here’s a sneak preview…
