Staffing - LSL
Just a reminder that I will be on Long Service Leave for the final three weeks of Term 1 (March 18th - April 5th). During this time, Jen will step into the Principal role and Matt O’Hern will be Acting Assistant Principal. I know that you will give them great support during this time.
Katrina St - Crossing Supervisor (update)
There has been an update to the Katrina St Crossing Supervisor situation. As a result of feedback from various schools and residents, Council has decided to place on hold the previously proposed changes pending further investigation and consultation.
Dogs in School
Thank-you to the families who have responded to the change in policy re Dogs in School. It has been noticeable that the majority of families walking dogs to or from school have been avoiding the high traffic areas as indicated on our map. I have included the policy and map again for your information.
The key points are:
- Dogs must be on a leash and under control at all times and in the control of a responsible adult
- Dogs are not to be walked through the main front gates (please enter via the pedestrian gate near at the end of the asphalt)
- Dogs are not to be tied up at the gate or fence
- There is a dog free zone as indicated on the map (this is an extremely congested area, before and after school)
Swimming Star
Congratulations to Azumi Sakamoto who competed in the Regional Swimming competition today. Azumi finished 4th in 50 metre backstroke, which is a fantastic result. Azumi is a member of the Nunawading Swimming Club, a highly regarded club with a number of Olympic and International representatives. Hopefully we will see Azumi in Australian colours at some stage in the future.
Facilities Improvements
There has been a lot of action around the school over the past week or two. The redevelopment and upgrade of our multi-purpose courts is well underway and I’m excited to see the finished product early in Term 2. The other area that is receiving some much needed attention is the area adjacent to the sandpit where our brand new cubby house is in place and some other improvements will appear over the next few weeks.
Kind regards
Duncan
