Student Leadership

Free Dress Day

On 11th of June, a free dress day was proposed to raise money for the State School Relief, a charity that provides free uniform, to schools and students, emphasizing the importance of coming to school wearing the correct uniform.

This is an opportunity to give back and support their foundation! They have been donating and supporting us financially for our college to relief school uniform. They’re highly important to our college, without them financially disadvantaged students would not be able to wear our school uniform with pride, and connect and unite with the college community.

We would to say a big thank you to all students who donated a gold coin to State School Relief, and to the staff who spent their time to collect donation, and to our SRC presidents Sharleen and Melanie, as it is they’re hugely responsible for this event.  We also like to acknowledge, Ms Dennis for the enormous assistance to the leadership team.

World Principal's Day

On the first of May, our college celebrated World Principal's Day . This is a day to recognise and give thanks to our hard working Principal Mr Finnerty and Assistant Principals Ms Haynes,  Ms Shiel and Mr Youssef. The never ending effort they pour into our college is indescribable. They are the reason why our college is always striving for the highest, whilst embracing our Hampton Park community.

Their leadership has provided an atmosphere where we have been able to feel welcomed. Because of their incredible leadership, we are inspired to become the best leaders of this college who aspire to inspire our peers. It has been what has set our school apart from others and has made our position all the more enjoyable and rewarding.

We thank you for your constant support, thank you for your caring and most of all thank you for your exceptional leadership.

World Vision Youth Conference

On Friday 25th of May, SRC leaders were fortunate enough to attend the World Vision Youth Conference which was held in the Melbourne Exhibition Centre. World Vision is a worldwide organisation that aims to eliminate global issues; such as poverty, famine, hunger and many others. the leadership conference included many different activities/workshops throughout the day. They also gave us an insight on the 40 Hour Famine Backpack Challenge. The 40 Hour Famine Backpack Challenge aims to encourage people to raise awareness about the living conditions refugees face. We will live for 40 hours with the clothes on our back and a small backpack of food and belongings as we take part in the 40 Hour Famine. We are encouraged to set up a funding page on the 40 Hour Famine website to keep track of fundraising efforts, more information on when it is and how to prepare for it can also be found on World Visions website page

Passion Project

On behalf of the House Captains and College Captain Kennice Dionisio, we are happy to be informing you all of the amazing upcoming event that is about to take place in Hampton Park Secondary College very soon. As part of Kennice Dionisio’s passion project she has chosen to create a whole school event named “Battle of the Houses”. It aims to deepen the empowerment of our students feel in leading initiatives and building our school pride. This concept is also designed to be both student centered, student led, and run through our House Systems. The intention of this event is to connect staff, students, and our learning community to an Arts based performance event, that builds House spirit across the whole school. This event will be held on Friday 29th of June in the Gymnasium during Period 4 (1:30pm - 2:30pm). In regards to this, the leadership team would also like to thank all students and teachers who have kindly volunteered to perform in aims to showcase their talents and represent their house. There is so much in store for this event! We look forward to seeing the performances and we encourage everyone to get ready to CHEER for their house, as for the first time our houses will compete through the Arts.

Year 12 Movie Night

On the 26th of June (Tuesday night after school), the Year 12 leadership team organised a movie night for the Year 12 students in the FLS. It was a fantastic fundraising opportunity for us, during which we raised money for end of year activities and the yearbook. Alongside the movie, the students were able to purchase popcorn, soft drinks, bottles of water and lolly bags - it was amazing to see many Year 12 students turning up to support their cohort. Ultimately, we raised around $250.

Furthermore, we’d like to thank Mr. Christiansen, Ms. Glenn and Ms. Dennis, who gave up their valuable time to supervise us, so that our entire movie night could happen. We hope to hold more fantastic events like this in the future!
