Vale Mark Waddington

It is with great sadness that we write of the passing of our much loved staff member, Mr Mark Waddington on Thursday August 25.

Mark is a staff member at St Virgil’s College, Hobart and a former staff member of St Patrick’s College, Ballarat dedicating much of his working life to these two school communities where he was a wonderful example of the charism of Blessed Edmund Rice in action. In his role as Director of Development at St Virgil’s College, he provided great support to the Old Virgilian’s Association, Parents & Friends Association and College Advisory Council. He had a deep commitment for the Mary Rice Centre in Kenya and was instrumental in supporting this community during his time at the College. He was the co-founder of the St Virgil’s College Reconciliation Action Plan and our tunapri makuminya Project.

We come together in prayerful support for Mark and his family, his wife Jacinta, his children Declan, Elijah, Tadhg and Matilda and his parents Margaret and Michael.
