Science Week
This week we celebrated National Science Week. The 2022 theme was Glass: More than meets the eye. On Wednesday we joined together as a school to do science activities. We had a demonstration from Miss Binns about how a microscope works and we had to guess which of the items were shown on the microscope. It was a little tricky to work out! We then split the school into 12 groups and children rotated around to three activities. They had the opportunity to make a lava lamp, a marble run and a kaleidoscope. The Year 4, 5 and 6 children helped the younger children to explore the science activities. It was lovely to see everyone get very excited about science. A big thank you to our Science Week team: Mrs Kempson, Mrs Metcalfe, Miss Hetzel-Bone, Ms Bevan and Mr Aistrope.
Book Week
The fun never stops here at Living Waters, we are looking forward to Book Week next week. The theme is Dreaming with Eyes Open. On Friday, our children will participate in a Book Week parade, so start planning your costume. We encourage creativity, using recycled materials.
Worship
This week we introduced a new lectern banner to use during worship. This has some amazing features. We went through these during worship on Wednesday. Shalom is a Hebrew word meaning peace and harmony. On the cloth you see a rainbow to represent God's promise to us. The green of the background signifies the season in the church called ordinary time. The water represents life and the Holy Spirit. The plants and flower represent God’s wonderful creation. The doves are a sign of peace. The sun is used to describe God who is good and the giver of life. This banner was beautiful made by Mrs Bronny Ritchie. We thank her for her wonderful sewing skills, creativity and the time and effort it took to make. We will treasure this in our worships to come.
Have a good week.
