Senior VCAL Work Related Skills news: GSC Senior Courtyard Project

This year the senior VCAL students at GSC have sought to brighten up their senior courtyard by bringing colour and design to it. Our students these past few months have brainstormed ideas and plans for painting planter boxes and a mural in the courtyard. This is to address complex project outcomes where students demonstrate teamwork and employability skills. All students in the class have contributed in some way, well supported by education support staff, Anne-Maree and Rose. 

Painting this colourful mural and planter boxes could not be completed without help from Lyn, the Community Activities Officer at Bunnings Sunbury and Jason a Dulux representative who helped supply paint and materials. We are most grateful for their support. A few of our students and Lyn discussed the type of paint and appropriate colours to use, after a design was made and fine-tuned by Kiara O,  Beth S did some initial liaising via email. Several of our students collected the paint at Bunnings and enjoyed their hospitality, then got right into the courtyard project when the weather cleared. Progress is well underway.
