Parent Opinion Survey

This week you will have received an email from me inviting you (parents) to complete the 2022 Parent Opinion Survey. All schools receive valuable feedback from all stakeholders each year with similar surveys being completed by students and staff.  The Parent Opinion Survey allows us to understand the areas that parents think we do well and those that might need a little improvement.

As Principal, I am fortunate to have many conversations with parents who will often discuss a range of matters with me, whether it’s a concern about how their child is travelling, or positive feedback about a teacher who is making a real difference. These conversations are a great insight into the range of different experiences that parents have across a range of different school experiences.

In 2021 for example, the data from the Parent Opinion Survey indicated that positive responses in school ethos and environment were above state average. This is your chance as a parent to give us your feedback and have you’re say. I encourage you, if you haven’t already, to complete the survey. You can find the invitation and further details in the Compass newsfeed.

City Experience

This week and next, Year 9 and 10 students are engaging in a range of activities as part of their 'City Experience'. Whilst this program is a common experience for Year 9s, the program has not been able to be run in the last two years and for this reason Year 10 students are also in the city for a week this year! Activities with themes centred around sport, hospitality, art and culture have been enjoyed by staff and students alike this week and will be again next week.

There mere fact that we can plan, implement and staff over 60 different excursions in a 2 week period is again testament to the dedication and commitment of our staff, who are already overloaded! In particular a big thanks to Middle Years leader Alex Shepherd who has led the city experience program.
