Professional Practice and Child Safe Standards

On Monday, all staff undertook extensive Department of Education training outlining our whole school practices and policies for the revised Child Safe Standards. We looked at the history and purpose of the standards, risk prevention for child abuse, updated policies for inclusion, supervision, yard duty, volunteers, complaints, visitors and more.

Recently, the draft Child Safety policy was shared on Class Dojo for families to read and provide feedback.  All related policies, which have been endorsed by School Council will now be on the school website for families and community to access.

The Professional Practice day also provided an opportunity for staff to review and assess student work, develop individual learning plans, communicate for forward planning (including updated Term 4 dates), and undertake personalized professional learning tasks. A very constructive day was had by all staff.
