The Leader In Me

In exciting news, Oakleigh Grammar has, once again, maintained its Lighthouse Certification for the next two years. Last month, staff and students met with representatives from Franklin Covey to present how we have continued to grow our leadership and progress in developing our students as leaders. Selected Year 5 students made up a panel to share what they have been doing to demonstrate leadership and showcase our classroom Leadership Folders. They were excited to have this opportunity to speak about how we were able to support each other during Remote Learning and apply the Habits to care for ourselves. Congratulations to all involved.

This week, students have reflected on their own personal and academic Wildly Important Goals for the term and will begin thinking about where their focus will be for Term 4. Each class has been tracking their W.I.G and students are eagerly awaiting their achievement and reward to celebrate.

Year 4 students are buzzing with their opportunity to start the process of 2023 School Leaders. With much anticipation and nervousness, our students will conduct speeches to their peers and meet with the leadership team. This is a wonderful chance for our students to be a part of a sound process that reflects real-life situations.

Wishing you all a restful break over the school holidays and a chance to recharge the batteries in preparation for our final term of 2022!
