Under the Spotlight

Jessie Clarke

Hi everyone, my name is Jessie Clarke and I’ve been lucky enough to work at OGPS since 2016. My husband, Marty, and I moved from Melbourne to Torquay in late 2015. I love driving to work over the Barwon Heads bridge every morning, it’s magic.

Life has been pretty busy since we moved but in the best way. We bought a house, got married, travelled the world, got two goofy Groodles, had our daughter, Audrey, and now we have a baby boy on the way.

Audrey is taking her new role of big sister very seriously. She has requested we name her new brother Bluey, Elsa or Olaf. She has also started to make rules for him such as which toys he may touch. Wish me (and him) luck.

It’s my dream to have a bookcase in every room of our house and I’m almost there. I love surrounding myself with books, they feel like old friends or a warm hug.

Speaking of books, I’m in one! When I was 20 I lived and worked in London for a couple of years. I worked in a very old and beautiful pharmacy in Mayfair. People would come in all the time and take photos of the building. On one of my days off I was having a coffee in a book shop and I spotted a book called ‘Mayfair’. I flicked through the book and there was a full page photo of me at work! I didn’t even know the photo was taken.

By the time you’re reading this I’ll be on Maternity Leave. I will be coming back at some stage so I look forward to seeing you around our amazing school then.
