School sport
Winter sports will continue this week and run for the duration of the term. Students will have the choice of Rugby League, Netball, Soccer, Basketball, Tennis ($1.00) and Lawn Bowls.
HTS Athletics Carnival
The Holy Trinity Athletics Carnival is on Friday 28 June. Students will be completing track events on the day including the 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m and 1500m. Field events will be completed in the first two weeks next term during sport. Students are to wear their full school sports uniform but may wear house colour T-shirts on the day (Johns – yellow, Marks – red, Pauls – blue, Leos – Green). Students should bring their hat, sunscreen and water bottle. If your child suffers from asthma they should bring their own Ventolin. A canteen will be available on the day.

Polding Rugby Union
Congratulations to our Open Rugby team who played well at the Diocesan Trials last week. Three boys were successful in being selected for the Armidale Team – Darcy Ryan, Jock Sides and Nick Hilton. These boys will travel to Forbes on Monday to trial for Polding team selections.
Infant’s Athletics Carnival
Congratulations to all of our K-2 students who participated in the Infants Athletics Carnival last Friday and a big thank you to our parents, friends and families who cam along and supported the children. The final results were as follows:

Year 3-10 Athletics Carnival
The Year 3-6 School Athletics Carnival will be held at Varley Oval this Friday, 28 June, starting at approx. 9:15am. Parents are welcome to attend. Children will be transported to Varley Oval by bus and will be supervised by staff. Students are to compete in age groups – 8\9 years, 10 years, 11 years & 12 years. Track events include 800m, 200m, 100m & house relays. Most ages will also compete in some novelty events where time permits and does not clash with races. This will be combined with the secondary students. Events will begin with the 8\9year boys 800m followed by the girls then continue through the ages. No exact start times can be given. Students are to wear their full school sports uniform but may wear house colour T-shirts on the day (Johns – yellow, Marks – red, Pauls – blue, Leos – Green).

Elective Sports – Term 3 (Year 3-6 Sport)
In Term 3 students from Years 3-6 will be participating in elective sports. They will need to choose 3 sports. They will be allocated 2 of these – each one for a 5-week block, depending on numbers and availability. First preference is given to senior students where possible. Please discuss these choices with your child before Friday as some of them incur a cost. Any bus travel is included in the price.
• Indoor Sports - $3.50 per week
This will be held at the Inverell Indoor Centre. Students will do indoor cricket, netball and soccer.
• School Sport – No Cost
This will be a variety of activities each week held at school on the back oval (eg. Hockey, Tee-ball, Basketball, Soccer, Cricket)
• Ten Pin Bowling - $8.50
Shake Rattle and Bowl – Ring Street
• Scootering – No Cost
Each week students will scooter to an area in town (eg Lake Inverell, Skatepark). All participants must have their own scooter and helmet.
• Bushwalking – No cost
This will be at a variety of venues around town including on the pathways and a trip to Goonoowigall.
• Yoga - $5.00
This will be gentle stretching and meditation activities.
• BMX/MTB/Cycling – no cost
Held at the new circuit, Lake Inverell Drive. Each week students will ride to the area. All participants must have their own bike and helmet.
• King Fit - $3.50
This involves going to the Nick King Lifestyle Centre to do activities around strength, coordination and fitness. Qualified instructors take the class.
• Dance – No Cost
This will be held at school and is not formal lessons. It will be following ‘Just Dance’ routines.
