Year 7 Tchoukball Final

During Term 4, all Year 7 Sport Education students were involved in a Tchoukball tournament. It was a fun, yet challenging tournament which provided all Year 7 students an opportunity to display some exceptional athleticism, strategic play and skill. The games were extremely intense and fast paced and students are to be commended on their high level of participation. It was the perfect opportunity for form groups to unite as a team and demonstrate fair play, led by our amazing Sport Education teachers.

The Grand Final was on Tuesday, 13th of November. 7G coached by their Sport teacher Mrs Brand and PE teacher Mr Cook came up against 7H, coached by their Sport and PE teacher Ms Robbins. Year 7 Coordinator, Mr Leith, was the official umpire on the day and Mr Metaxas, as our DJ, set the mood right with some energetic music.

An All-Stars team (comprised of 2 nominated students from each form group) first played against the teachers. With exceptional skill (and maybe some height) the teachers easily won against the All-stars students’ team with a win of 12-5.

Next up 7G versed 7H in the Grand Final. Congratulations to 7G for winning the 2018 Tchoukball Championship. Both teams played really well, but 7G’s fast pace, accurate passing and exceptional team work helped them win 6-2 on the day.

Lastly, it was time for the Excel Sports All-stars team to play against the teachers. The score was a little closer this time, but the teachers still managed to win 6-1. We may not have had the youthfulness on our side, but we definitely showcased some skill and athleticism!!

Thank you to all year 7 Sport Education teachers who have been amazing coaches to our Year 7 students. It has been a very successful and enjoyable year and I encourage all students to continue their involvement in Inter-school Sport in Year 8.
