Welcome back to Wanganui Park Secondary College from the Technology team.

It has been a good start to the year with most students either finishing or very nearly finished their OnGuard safety modules. This will facilitate a safe work environment for the students and increase their knowledge on a variety of tools and machinery used in the Technology Domain.

The team in 2017 consists of Mr Weston, Mrs Kelton, Mr Exton, Ms Olney, Ms O’Brien and Mrs Baker. We are very lucky to receive great support from Mrs Sue Sinclair in the Home Economics Department and Pete and Casey Cantlin whose work behind the scenes ensures that the Technology Domain runs fluently all year.

This year will again be an exciting year seeing how the students apply the Design Process to the Design Brief in their workbooks. This evolution of the Victorian Curriculum has created many great opportunities for the students. This year we again will be aspiring to contribute photos and a short description regularly to Newslink to keep parents and students informed on progress being made in our Domain.

*A reminder of the College Policy regarding fully covered BLACK leather shoes. This is a department requirement and class inspections have already began.  The College policy also stipulates that students need to purchase hearing protection for all practical classes in Wood and Metal. These can be purchased from the office or a retailer of your choice. More details can be provided by the College upon request.

*Our VCE Parent Information Evening is on Wednesday the 8th of February from 7:00pm in the SLC.
