Primary Report

As we roll into the end of term 2, we are seeing the typical fatigue that sets in for our students and staff. The cold weather brings with it the coughs and sniffles, so the break will be most welcome to us all. I am proud of the work that the staff and students have done this semester and look forward to what we can all achieve in semester two.

The past few weeks has seen our students participating in many assessments, as we gather information on how they are travelling with their learning.  The teachers are working hard to prepare your children’s reports to share with you early next term, so that you can see their results also. As teachers, we are constantly focused on our students’ learning, guiding them to make good progress and when we get positive results for our students, we are reminded of why we came to this rewarding profession.

The year 04-06 students have participated in their last matches in interschool sport for netball and tee ball for Term 2.  Next term they will be playing bat tennis and soccer and have already started training with their teams. The students really enjoy the opportunity to meet other students from our neighbouring schools, as well as being able to learn the skills of sports that may be new to them.

The gymnastics program for the Prep – Year 03 students has been enjoyed by the children this term. The YMCA coaches provide a fun and challenging program for the students, whereby they are building confidence in their balance, coordination and body strength. This has become a very positive relationship between the YMCA and Macleod College over the years we have been running this program.

For those parents and carers needing childcare for their children over the holidays, Their Care, our OSHC provider, will be offering their ‘We can be Heroes’ program over the holidays. Please ensure that you book in through their website: www.theircare.com.au or phone on 0417 000 124.  The program runs through the holidays Monday to Friday from 7:00am – 6:00pm.

I hope you and your families enjoy the upcoming holidays, and we look forward to another fun-filled and productive term in Term 3.
