Principal's Report

Hello everyone,

Last Wednesday, we were visited by Mr. Paul Mercurio, State Labor Member for Hastings, and his colleague, Lukas. Paul toured our school, looked at our facilities, visited classrooms, and spoke with students and staff. Paul was interested in how our school was growing, and he offered to support St Brendan’s if we required his assistance.

I am so proud of our four wonderful students from Year Four: Ellie, Willow, Zac, and Archie who showed their leadership and social skills by warmly and respectfully welcoming our visitors. I would like to thank these students for the respect and welcome they showed. They made me a very proud principal.

Learning Showcase.

Last Thursday we held our first Learning Showcase.

It is important to make learning happen in relation to others, the showcase sparked emotional connections, gave the student power in their learning, and students were able to express ideas in multiple ways.

Staff started planning for this day way back in March, at our staff conference.

It was a pleasure to see it all come together in such a magnificent way.

We aim to continue with the Learning Showcase concept in the future, highlighting different curriculum areas each time.

Thank you so much for making the afternoon so successful.  We really want authentic opportunities to welcome parents into the school to see what is happening.

Parent Teacher Interviews.

Now that you have had the opportunity to see your child/ren's work, we welcome you to Parent Teacher Interviews where you get the chance to speak with classroom teachers.

Parent Teacher Interviews will be held:

  • Tuesday 20th June 1.30 pm - 6.30 pm
  • Wednesday 21st June 3.30 pm - 5.30 pm
