Soccer Gala Day

On Friday 26th May the Football (soccer) gala day was held at Rologas Sporting fields. Ben Venue sent a girls and boys team to play against other local teams to compete in the first few rounds of the PSSA Knockout competition.

Ben Venue girls played against Guyra Central School and came away with a 3-0 win. The boys played Sandon Public School also winning their game 3-0.

The boys then came up against Guyra Central School winning 4-0. The girls played Armidale City Public School in a must win match. After a nail biter, Ben Venue scored in the last few minutes to come away with a 4-3 win, moving them into the next round of competition against Glen Innes Public School.

With an extra game under their belt, injuries and cold wind, the boys played a hard fought game against a very strong Armidale City Public School, eventually being defeated.

Both teams played extremely well, displayed sportsmanship behaviour and should be proud of their efforts.
