Loddon Mallee Competition

On the 1st of July, 15 girls went to Epsom soccer ground to take on the London Mallee competition! Our first match was against St Marys of the Angels, with our strong defence, midfielders, and fast wingers the other team had no hope. We ended up winning 4-0. After our bye we had 3 back-to-back games. We then faced Swan Hill, we were warmed up and ready to go. The match ended with a 6-0 win, how good! Right after we played Irymple, they were tough competition, the ball was in our half most of the game and the strong midfielders and forwards worked hard to get 2 goals. Finishing the game with 2-0!

Finally, it came to our redemption game against Catherine McAuley College, although it wasn’t a grand final, we played like it was. CMC was on edge from the very start. With all of our girls giving it their all, Mia got a through ball and managed to score a goal! We all knew we had to keep this pressure up to get the win. The strong defence line and midfielders made it impossible for CMC to find a break. Our midfielders and forwards worked together very well with short sharp passing enabling for myself to get a goal. It was now 2-0 and we all knew we had won the game, but we had to keep this up just in case the strong CMC team scored. We ended up winning 2-0 so it meant we were through to States!

Well done to all the girls and Georgia our keeper for having a clean sheet. Each member on the team gave every game their all and it shows as we move onto States! Thank you to Mr Norris for taking the day off to coach our team and Archie Lee for being our linesman.
