Tui Syndicate and Olivia are doing a Pay it Forward for a charity called Back2School - Day 1, which will be during week 10.

The aim is for parents and families to donate BRAND NEW stationery items (from the list they will be posting).

These can be given to the classroom teachers or put  into a box placed at the office. Tui kids and Rm 11 will collect your items Thursday or Friday of week 10 to place onto a huge backpack drawing or poster so we can create a photo for their promotion of the charity. This is their first step into nationwide participation.

This is to collect the new stationery that some children need (but may not be able to get) for the beginning of 2024, so they can come to school ready for Day 1.

WHY DAY ONE:

Back2School Project is a non-profit organisation that strives to ensure all students, no matter who they are or where they've come from, have their exact school stationery from their first day. It is our hope that one day these students will go off and do great things, but one day starts with Day One.

Day One: A Back2School Project Awareness Day is an invitation for you to be a champion of change and show up so they can too. On Friday, 30 June 2023, Back2School Project will be launching the first Day One awareness day. This will be a day for schools, workplaces, and whanau across Auckland (and beyond) to learn more about B2SP.

We really need a supply of spare clothes, especially smaller size shorts and pants.

Donations can be made at your child's classroom or at our main office.

Your help will be sincerely appreciated.

Please talk to your children about rail safety. We have been informed by NZ Rail that a number of (mainly High School) students are crossing the tracks when they shouldn't be. At the Sturges Road stop, there is NO way a train can make an emergency stop anywhere nearly in time to avoid hitting someone. There have been so seriously close calls recently, so please talk to your children if they use this stop (or any stop for that matter).
