Welcome Back to Term 3 Everyone!!

Congratulations to Edmends Team for collecting the most PBL cards in Term 3 and making our school community a Respectful, Responsible, Resilient and Safe school. We hope all the members of EDMENDS GOLD team enjoyed your Zooper Dooper this week. Teachers and the PBL team will continue to give out Values Cards throughout the term when they see students demonstrating our Values. Good Luck EVERYONE! Will it be McKillop (BLUE) Team, Vernon (GREEN) Team, Crowley (RED)Team or Edmends (GOLD) Team again?

Social and Emotional Learning at St Anne’s.

This Term, children will continue to participate in regular Vertical SEL lessons. We encourage you to discuss your child’s experience and what the lesson was about. Next week the focus is on SAFETY.

SEL session the focus was on:

building relationships with staff and students
developing understanding of positive relationships and connections.
Extending emotional literacy via an enhanced vocabulary of understanding and describing emotions. The vocab of Safety and what does it mean at St Anne’s.
Recognising safe and unsafe situations
Identifying steps that can be used to make safe decisions.

School Counseling at St Anne’s.

We are fortunate to have the counseling service at St Anne’s. Bridget is our school counselor and works at our school on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. There is a referral process required and all correspondence should be forwarded to Kristie Browning. Bridget’s caseload is currently full and there is a waiting list. Bridget works with extensive friendship issues, school refusal, social skills, family break ups, grief etc. Due to the demand of this service, case’s are reviewed after 10 sessions. It is suggested if your child requires immediate intervention or support, you seek external agencies such as a GP. If any concerns please contact Kristie.
