Mr Churchyard and Mr Gibney

The senior boys Table Tennis team kicked off Term 3 winning the Southern Metropolitan Division Stage of the competition. The boys displayed some excellent skills cruising through the majority of their matches. They went on to compete at the region stage of the competition on the 1st of August at Dandenong Table Tennis Association where they lost out to some tough opposition. Despite not progressing to state the boys enjoyed the test, displaying resilience and togetherness to support each other through the day.

The senior boys and girls Inter School Handball teams were also in action at Casey Stadium, where the girls beat Cranbourne Secondary College to win the day. The boys finished runners up showing great team spirit and determination. We entered two senior boys basketball teams into the division competition, with the A team just missed out on topping the table in the final game. The boys played some excellent basketball but unfortunately fatigue seemed to get the better of them in the end. Excellent effort all round.

The intermediate teams experienced lots of success at the division stage of the SSV competition. Both the boys’ and girls’ basketball A teams progressed to the region stage taking place on the 26th of October, both remained undefeated all day.  The B teams also put on some excellent performances, relishing the opportunity to participate against the local colleges. We had four table tennis teams representing the college at Dandenong Table Tennis Association. All teams displayed excellent responsibility and leadership skills, umpiring games, and organising themselves to ensure they were in the correct place. Although the boys’ teams narrowly missed out to Hampton Park, the Year 9 girls’ team will progress to the region stage of the competition also taking place on the 26th of October.

The Year 7 Badminton team return to the court on Tuesday 16th August in the region stage of the competition. The girls are eager to show off their skills and challenge themselves against some tough opposition in the hope of progressing through to the state championships.
