Secondary Year 12

Term 2 Highlights

“One highlight I would say was doing work experience at Big W at Epping every Thursday for 8 weeks. I enjoyed learning new things, like learning how to use a pallet jack. It was also good doing a variety of different things like putting the shoes in shelves, cleaning the makeup, organising the toys for their toy sale the next week, sizing all the lingerie and putting the clothes back where they belong. The staff were very polite and I was pretty happy with that. On the last day the supervisor gave me a box of chocolates which was unexpected. THANK YOU TO STAFF AT BIG W!!!”  Carla

“My high light in Term 2 was going to Sydney Camp. One of first things we did in Sydney was that went to lunch.  We stayed at the YHA in the Rocks.  One of the days we went to Bondi Beach and chilled and we got lunch then we caught the train back to the hotel.  We also went to Sydney Opera House for a tour of the Opera House then we walked back to the hotel in the Rocks.”  Jarrod

“In Term 2 I liked the Immigration Museum and it was really interesting with all the stereotypical ads. I liked how we made burgers on Sports Day and they were tasty good. I like Extreme Teams on Tuesdays because I’m with my favourite teacher and my best friend. In class I liked writing about my memory and reading it out loud to my class.  I like how we went to Queen Vic Market and took snaps of the stalls and different foods that we had to find. I liked the ‘Try-a-Trade’ because everything went my way, I liked it and the date was 10th May.  I also liked how we went to another school to try on our ball dresses, it was really cool and fancy.’  Ruby

“My highlight of term 2 was going to the Sydney camp because I got to catch a plane for the first time in my life. I enjoyed going to the Sydney Opera House because I have never been there before. Also I liked going to Cockatoo Island because I got to learn different things about the island.  I have also been doing work experience at the Bundoora Indoor Action Centre. When I’m there I spend my time coaching the kids in their sport classes. I also helped the guys set up Inflatable World, were we moved mats around mostly.”  Lachlan

“When we went to the Sydney camp one of the first things we did was go to the Sealife Aquarium. I also loved the boat ride to Cockatoo Island and there were historical places from convict times, for example the prison. Going to the Taronga Zoo was a highlight of the trip too and I saw gorillas, penguins, giraffes, elephants and sea lions. On one Friday in Term 2 we visited the Immigration Museum. There was a lot of immigration history in the exhibits and one was about Ghandi who was the most famous Indian person in history.  On a rainy Friday we visited the East Melbourne Police Station. They told us not to walk with our phones out in a big city. They also told us to call the police if something bad happens to help your situation.”  Michael
