Specialist Learning

Mandarin with Parker

In term 1, the students in Trinity Catholic School have continued their journey in learning Chinese. We learnt about traditions and greetings in association with Chinese New Year at the beginning of the school year. The middle and senior years have practised both speaking and writing skills in the Mandarin language while the junior years are focusing on learning about greetings and self-introduction in Chinese.

Students from year 2/3/4 have also participated in the Chinese poetry study and passionately shared their learning on the Multicultural Food Night to celebrate the diversity of cultures in our community.

The senior years at the moment are engaged with the project of learning about How Chinese Government Works as an extention of their unit of inquiry on democracy. They are working in groups to investigate famous Chinese leaders through the history.
