Berry Street Learning

This Term, the students engaged in The Body Domain of the The Berry Street Education Model.

Teachers have carefully planned a range of activities and strategies for students to have regular opportunities to be PRESENT - CENTRED - GROUNDED.

When we are PRESENT - CENTRED - GROUNDED, we hold our power in our hands to calmly engage with the opportunities in front of us. Life exists in flow. These techniques are tangible steps toward students understanding how they can better manage their emotions and be calm and productive.

During the holiday break, try and provide opportunities for your child(ren) to practise some of the techniques that they have learned in class such as ‘Learning to Breathe’ or ‘Silent Ball’.

SEASONS for GROWTH Children and Young People’s Program

This week a letter was sent home inviting Expressions of Interest for students to participate in the Seasons Programme.

The program:

• Supports children and young people to understand and respond well to the to the issues they experience as a result of death, separation, divorce, or other significant change and loss in their lives
• Assists children and young people to understand that their feelings and other reactions are normal
• Develop skills for coping, problem-solving and decision making
• Builds a peer support network
• Helps restore self-confidence and self-esteem
• Educates children and young people about the grief process

Peaceful Parents Workshop: Georgina Manning

Georgina Manning still has some places left for opur parent to attend the Peaceful Parent workshops next term at Trinity. The purpose of these workshops is to support parents in building resilient and calm children.
