NETBALL

It has been great to see the St Nicholas School teams in action on the court! We have our first duty coming up this Saturday, 5th June. I'll attach our list of duties. We have another one on 17th July 2021.

I will need the teams that play at 11:50am to come at 11am to help with the post pads before you go and warm up/train. I will also need two parents from each team to man the umpire's table. If you do shifts of 1/2 hour each, it will help! Please inform your coaches or let me know directly if you can help so I can allocate a time to you.

Please remember if you need netball visors, they are in the front office and come in two sizes - child and adult. Child - $8 and adult - $9. You cannot order via Qkr, as the netball club runs separately to the school account.

Please send in cash or direct deposit to the bank account.

ATHLETICS CARNIVAL FIELD EVENT TRIALS

On a Friday in weeks 7, 9 and 10 children will be given the opportunity to try out for the field events for the Athletics Carnival next term. These events are high jump, long jump, shotput and discus. I am aware that some students are away on Fridays due to illness or other commitments. I will offer a second day for those children who may have been away on the first trials.

POLDING GOLF AND SOFTBALL TRIALS

The Polding Softball (Boys & Girls) and the NSWCPS Golf Tournament (Boys & Girls) are now open for registration. Further information about the dates of these carnivals can be found on the csnsw/sport website. To register your child to participate in these Polding Trials please complete the google form linked. Please note that these trials are not run through the Armidale Diocese due to limited nominations. Students interested in trialing for the Polding Softball and NSWCPS Golf tournament should already have sufficient skill in this sport to nominate. Parents wishing to register their child need to do so via the website. Mrs Tyrrell will NOT be nominating these students.

DIOCESAN GALA DAY

St Nicholas School will be entering teams in the Diocesan Gala Day in Inverell on Friday 11th June. Notes with details of bus times and costings were given to those players who expressed their interest last week. Please return to Mrs Tyrrell as soon as possible.  The day is due to finish at 2pm so buses will hopefully be back to St Nicholas by 5pm. The bus to Inverell will be leaving at 5:45 am from St Nicholas Primary School.

Students playing league MUST HAVE A MOUTHGUARD to take the field.

NATIONAL PRIMARY GAMES

This year the National Primary Games will be held in Tamworth on the 10th and 11th July 2021 (The last weekend of the holidays). This event will be hosted by NIAS and supported by the Australian Olympic Committee. The aim of the National Primary Games is to bring young players across all different sports together in the spirit of sportsmanship and enthusiasm. This is for children aged 8 - 14.  St Nicholas are entering teams in Netball and Soccer only as not enough players showed interest for Rugby League and Rugby Union. A note with the cost of the weekend will be coming home in Week 8.

BASKETBALL TERMS 3 and 4

Notes for children interested in playing Basketball for the next season were sent home this week. Please let Mrs Tyrrell know if you are interested by Friday 11th June so that teams can be registered.
