15 Year Girls team - Runners up at the State Cross Country Championships
Term 3 has seen us launching straight into sport with State Cross Country in week 1 and plenty of Regional Competitions in up and coming weeks. Further into the term we have our Divisional Hockey, Basketball and Table Tennis. We will be having sign ups for Basketball in Week 2 and Hockey in Week 3 (see times below). This should also appear on students Compass if they have expressed an interest in these in their Sports Survey. If there is a sport you are interested in, and it doesn’t come up on your Compass, just come along and sign up anyway. As a reminder, listen out for PA announcements at the beginning of Recess next week.

State Cross Country
Congratulations to all of our students who competed in the State Cross Country on Thursday 19th July at Bundoora Park. Taking a team of 24 students, we were one of the largest teams competing, with schools travelling from all over Victoria. Competitors had to battle blustery conditions, but thankfully the rain held off.

Once again our teams had some success. A team consists of 4-5 runners, with our 14 Yr Boys and 15 Yr Boys both coming in First Place and 15 Year Girls team coming in Second. Individually we had Niamh Tabit and Douglas Buckeridge coming 2nd in their events, Archie Noakes 4th in the 14 yr Boys , and Makaila Young 9th in the 15 yr Girls.
We had many students ranking in the top 20 and I am sure some PB’s were also gained. All results can be found on the School Sport Victoria website. All of our team members should be proud to make it through to State. Our Cross Country Team seems to be getting stronger each year. Thank you to Mr Bartholomew who offered early morning training sessions and to lend a hand on competition days. It’s also great to see so many parents coming along to support.
