French exchange students depart
The group of French students on short- term exchange from the CIV (Centre International de Valbonne) has now returned to France. They loved their time at Northcote High School. They all commented on the warm welcome that they received from our community (students and teachers) and their host families. It was a very rich experience for all involved. There were a lot of smiles but also some tears at the airport when they left during the holidays.
On Wednesday the 8th of August at 6pm, we will have an information meeting for the 2019 French exchange to the Centre International de Valbonne (near Nice in the South of France). The exchange is open to students of Year 10 and 11. Current students of Year 9 French doing Year 10 French in 2019, and current Year 10 students who will be studying French in VCE are invited to attend.
If you cannot attend the meeting, please feel free to contact Pierrick Hubert hubert.pierrick.g@edumail.vic.gov.au
The French faculty at Northcote High School is very happy and excited to welcome our new French language assistant, Isabelle Gindt. Isabelle will be working with small groups of interested students across all levels. The focus of these smaller classes will be to enhance the speaking and listening skills of our students. She will also spend time with senior students individually, helping them prepare for the general conversation and detailed study required for Year 12 assessment. Isabelle has much experience working in secondary schools and we look forward to having her on the French team.
