Year 12 ATAR Exams

These exams begin next Thursday 27 May, students already have their timetable and instructions. The time allocated for study can be undertaken in Room 1, where students' normal timetabled teachers are available.

Welcome Crystal Greenwood

The College is also assisting Crystal Greenwood, a Pre-service teacher from Murdoch University, with her three week prac. Ms Greenwood is fitting in well and has been involved in a number of Year 11 and 12 Animal/Plant Production classes under the supervision of Mrs Day.

Year 10 Science

Students from Year 10 Science are investigating inheritance patterns.  Students planted some snap peas and carnations to compare incomplete dominance of traits with co-dominant traits. Students were prompted to predict the outcome of their “offspring”. We will find out in 20 days or so.

Big Science Competition

On another note. Year 10 students will be participating in the Big Science Competition in the next few weeks. Student will be involved in a multiple choice competition testing science knowledge, critical-thinking and problem-solving skills. Questions are set in real-life, contemporary contexts, making them relatable (and interesting)! Students will be participating with other students from all around Australia!

Patane Produce Excursions

Year 11 General Plant Production System students visited Patane Farms this week to look at the 'Paddock to Plate' activities for growing broccoli. Lauren Patane did an excellent job explaining the process and students were able to gain a first-hand look at the entire process. We are fortunate to have an export producer on our doorstep.
