Junior Class - Mrs Creek

Mrs O’Malley in Alligator Alley is the title of our shared story this week. We went outside in our alley (walkway between the school and the hall) and pretended to be alligators snapping at Mrs O’Malley who likes to ‘dilly-dally’ in Alligator Alley. What a great word that is: to dilly-dally. Maybe you could use this word this week if your child is being too slow getting ready! Getting back to the story, Mrs O’Malley gets a letter from the mayor, but she takes no notice. She just says, "Shoo, Shoo, Shoo!" I’ll let your child tell you what happens. Not many days in class this week, but bus excursions are a delight, especially after COVID no travel last year.

Middle Class - Miss Williams

This week we have only had a few days to work on reading. We have been looking at similarities and differences in texts. We have been reading a range of fairy tales to help us with this. So far we have read The Three Billy Goats Gruff, The Three Little Pigs and The Gingerbread Boy. In writing we have been working on writing more poems this week. We have written a range of acrostic poems, alliterations and shape poems and have had a lot of fun creating them. In Maths we have completed module 4 in Stepping Stones, and have begun module 5. We are looking at 4-digit place value with the Year 3’s and subtraction with the Year 2’s. We have had a fun filled week with a few bus trips to other places to celebrate Catholic Education Week. We went to Horsham on Wednesday and Edenhope on Thursday. We have had a lot of fun going to these places and meeting new people and of course getting to go on the bus.

Senior Class - Miss Walker

This  week has been full of twists and turns! Some Year 6 students started the week by attending a special Mass in Ballarat for Catholic Education Week, which they thoroughly enjoyed. In reading this week, we have moved from fables to myths, particularly those involving Greek gods and goddesses. Our focus text has been on Pandora's box which has sparked some students' curiosity. On Wednesday we had a fun day in Horsham and on Thursday we visited Edenhope. We had lots of fun learning new dances, meeting new people and entertaining ourselves on the bus trip. Whilst the news of another lockdown is unfortunate, it will provide a good opportunity to rest after a big couple of days out and about!

Happy birthday wishes to ...
