From the Principal

Dear Parents and Carers,

It was a lovely sight to see students return last Friday as we emerged from the latest COVID lockdown.  Congratulations to parents and carers for navigating another period of remote learning and lockdown.  Whilst I acknowledge that the remote learning experience is varied from household to household, the general “feel” this time was a lot calmer.  Over the last 18 months, our school community has developed some shared understandings of how remote learning works in different year levels and this has taken some of the unknown of what this looks like for students, parents and staff.

I hope the long weekend has provided a time to pause and not feel the pressures of the previous weeks.  I know that some of our school families and staff (myself included) were affected by the widespread power outages across the outer eastern area over the weekend, which added another layer of uncertainty and instability. As we edge closer to the school holiday break, let us hope and pray that we have a calm and event-free next few days!

Latest COVID restrictions

As per Catholic Schools Operations guidelines, the following arrangements are to remain in place until further notice in relation to COVID safe practices within the school

  • Masks are to be worn indoors and outdoors by all adults on the school site except for when in the act of teaching or communicating with children.
  • Maintain good hand hygiene
  • Parents, children and staff should not come to school if they are feeling unwell.  Please follow DHHS advice regarding COVID testing.
  • Visitors to the school are restricted to essential work only except for school pick up and drop off times.  All visitors must continue to socially distance themselves and use the Service Victoria Check In QR code system available at the front and gate entries to the school site.
  • Excursions and camps have been postponed for Term 2
  • InterSchool sports activities are postponed however there may be a shift to this advice in the coming days.

School Reports

The Semester 1 school report will be available for parents to view and download on Monday 21st June.

This is the second year that the school has adopted a digital parent portal platform for the distribution of the school reports via our reporting system Nforma.

In the led up to Monday, families will receive an email to reset your password access to the Nforma Parent Portal.  If you have any queries please contact the school office after Monday 21st June.  A message will sent via SkoolBag on Monday 22nd June to alert parents that the school reports are ready for viewing.

Parent-Teacher Meetings

Due to current COVID restrictions, the mid-year parent-teacher meetings will be conducted via Google Meets.  This was the method we used last year at the beginning of Term 3.

Parent-Teacher meetings will take place on Tuesday 22nd June 3:30-6:00pm and Thursday 3:30-4:30pm.  The meeting duration will be for 10 minutes per student.

Families who have recently met the school via Program Support Group (PSG) meeting are not required to sign up for parent-teacher meeting appointments.

To make a booking, please follow the steps below.

  1. Go to schoolinterviews.com.au
  2. Click\ Tap “Make a Booking” and  the event code rtuxs
  3. Follow the prompts to finalise your booking.

The system is open for bookings now.

Further instructions and information about how to connect via Google Meets will be sent to school families via Operoo email by the end of the week.

Prep Enrolment 2022 - Please return

To assist with our organisational planning for 2022, all prep enrolment applications should be handed to the School office as soon as possible.  Forms can be collected from the school office after we return to normal onsite schooling.
