Y12 Studio Arts Excursion

On Tuesday 15th of August, the Year 12 Studio Arts class went on an excursion to the city in preparation for their SAC. They visited various galleries including the ACCA and The Blideside gallery. We were impressed with the way the Year 12’s conducted themselves and asked thoughtful questions. Students learnt about all that is involved in gallery spaces, such as; the role of the curator, the impact of lighting, heating and the preservation of the artwork. We would also like to thank the placement teacher, Samuel Berenyi who assisted us on this excursion.

What’s happening in VCD?

Term 3 is a busy time for the Y12 VCD students! The Year 12 students have been staying back until 6pm every second Tuesday to work on their folio.  A lot of hard work is being done in and out of class. The Y11 VCD class are currently completing their interpretation of the word ‘Diversity’ in preparation for Diversity Week. Students have the option of completing this in watercolour, markers, pencils and computer programs. The Y9 VCD class are currently making floor plans for a café/restaurant and are learning about layout, space and proportion. While the Year 8 VCD class have just finished creating their own fruit (see pictures for reference of the Y8 work).

We have some very creative and talented VCD students at Fairhills!
