Our first Library Open Evening was an outstanding success!
Over 30 families came along to play board games, read and borrow books and enjoy hot chocolates with marshmallows.
Thank you to our wonderfully supportive school community who made last night happen and to everyone who joined in!
We will be having another Library Open Evening on Tuesday 27th of June from 6 pm to 8 pm - Parents must attend with their child/ren.
On Wednesday we had National Simultaneous Storytime!
National Simultaneous Storytime (NSS) is an Australia-wide group reading and literacy event, where schools, libraries and other institutions gather school-age children together to read the same chosen picture book at the same time.
2023's chosen book was The Speedy Sloth by Rebecca Young and Heath McKenzie ; a story about a sloth that loves to run around FAST! He goes on an adventure in the rainforest, challenging other animals to a race. He learns some important lessons along the way.
Last Week was Catholic Education Week!
Catholic Education Week is an annual opportunity for Catholic schools to celebrate the excellent teaching and learning that happens every day and reflect on what makes their school so special.
Students and families are reminded to be wary of approaches from strangers, especially when they are unaccompanied or travelling to and from school. If they are approached students should not respond and should not accept offers of rides or gifts.
Students should seek the assistance of other nearby adults if they feel unsafe and should report the event to a trusted adult (parent or school staff member) as soon as possible.
SAPOL advises that taking out a mobile phone and calling police can deter the offender and they recommend the student making a formal report to their closest police station.
Thank you for all your support and we look forward to continuing with you on your journey with St Brigid's School.
