Principal Post

Dear Families,

I hope that you having a good week.  This morning, as part of the Parish Sacramental Program, Bishop Ireland visited the students who will shortly make the Sacrament of Confirmation. The celebration takes place on Sunday 18th June at  2:30pm. We continue to keep these and all our students in our prayers and thoughts. May we continue to be spirit filled people, using our gifts to look out for and care for those in need.

We keep the people of India and all those effected in our hearts after the rail disaster in India late last week.

Partnership with John Hannah House

The fortnightly Intergenerational playgroup with students and John Hannah House Residents is a wonderful example of learning from and supporting one another.  Each fortnight a class organises an activity  and the residents come across to the staffroom to participate. The activities are quite simple and the  enjoyment between the two groups is obvious and a  wonderful  example of care and friendship.  Read about last Mondays activity. further into this edition.

From the office: Reporting Student Absence

We still have a number of students and staff away with illness.

I remind you of the process to report student absences.

Parents, please ensure if your child is absent that you contact the school no later than 9.30am. It is vitally important to ensure our records are up to date and consistent.

You can report your child's absence in the following ways:

Should you wish to email your child's absence to the class teacher you MUST also follow the process as above.  If you doemail your child's class teacher the information does not get to the office in a timely or correct manner. It is essential to follow the process as above.

If your child is absent from school due to COVID you may request a Home Learning Planner from your child's teacher.  The Home Learning Planner is optional and should only be requested once your child is well enough to complete home learning tasks.

Classes Masses

Thank you to 3-4TG who who prepared last Friday's Mass.

This Friday 3-4WH are preparing our Eucharist. You all all very welcome.    After the Mass 3-4WH parents are invited to a Morning Tea in the staffroom.  Please bring a plate but ensure all ingredients are clearly labelled. No Nuts (including nut oil)  or fresh cream.

Congratulations!

Foundation L won our line competition this week; they displayed the ability to listen and move only when their teacher asked and moved from the  assembly line to their classroom quietly.

As a reward they have an extra class game together.

Seussical the Musical

Last week our Year 4 students went to see Seussical the Musical. It is lovely to read their letter of appreciation sent back to Nazareth as a sign of their appreciation.

Dear students of Nazareth,

Thank you for inviting us and letting us come to your amazing show ‘Seussical’ yesterday.

We really enjoyed the show and how good you all acted as your characters. The singing and dancing was fantastic!

We loved all the different songs and thought it was cool how the bubbles fell down from the roof in the bath scene.

We know you have worked really hard and it has paid off. Well done!

Good luck and best wishes for your performances for the next three nights.

From the Year 4 students at St John Vianney’s, Mulgrave
