Message From Our Principal

Mrs Jackie Stockdale

Haven’t the mornings been chilly? By lunch time though, we are loving getting outside and the children have been kicking the footy, playing downball, building in the sandpit, playing lego and just enjoying our space and the great outdoors.

I would like to express my gratitude to the wonderful women who attended our special breakfast. Mother's Day is a special occasion to honour and appreciate the love, care, and dedication of mothers everywhere. It's great that we all took the time to acknowledge their importance and celebrate their role in our lives. Mothers play a vital role in shaping our lives and nurturing us with their unconditional love and support. They often make countless sacrifices and work tirelessly to ensure our well-being. A Mother's Day breakfast is a lovely way to show your appreciation and make them feel valued.

Remember to express your gratitude, not just on Mother's Day, but throughout the year. A heartfelt thank you, a hug, or spending quality time together can mean the world to a mother. They deserve recognition for their constant efforts and the love they pour into their families.

Thank you to all of the staff who planned and implemented the breakfast, especially Emma. I'm sure the mothers who attended were touched by your gesture of appreciation.

We are halfway through Term 2. Teachers are gathering evidence to put into reports and students have worked with their teacher to establish Term 2 learning goals. Students are continuing to develop habits and attitudes that are seeing them begin to experience success in attaining their individual goals. These learning goals will be shared with families via PAM or SIMON Everywhere next week.

Congratulations to the 22 children who participated in the Division Cross Country yesterday. You represented our school in an impressive manner and ran very well. Special congratulations to Zac Wakenshaw and Tamara Brennan who have qualified for Zone later this term. A big thank you to Miss Ras, Abby and Tootie who trained all of these students for the event.

Today we celebrated ‘Learning Support Officers Day’ we presented Emma, Abby, Dani and Niky with a video, a unique poster and special gift.

Learning Support Officers are dedicated professionals who work closely with students, teachers, and parents to create a positive and inclusive learning environment. They provide one-on-one support and resources to help students overcome challenges and reach their full potential. Their commitment and expertise contribute significantly to the academic success and well-being of students.

By acknowledging and appreciating the efforts of learning support officers, you recognise their invaluable contributions to the educational community. Their dedication, patience, and ability to connect with students make a positive impact on their learning journeys.

A very special thanks to Emma, Abby, Dani and Niky for everything they do for the students, families and staff at St Patrick’s.

Last week Teresa, Emma and I attended a community gathering at the Kyabram Club. During the evening I received a very generous donation from Kyabram Club, which we will contribute to our new football posts and pads.

As we move into the cooler months I wanted to remind all families that you can purchase school beanies from the office for $10. We also have a limited amount of stock of school pants for sale from the office. Please see Emma at the office between 8:30-9:30am or 2:30-3:30pm if you wish to make a purchase. Also the winter skirt is available online at : https://store.beleza.com.au/skirt/1479-girl-s-winter-skirt.html. (please ensure code for skirt is SK516I – 9057)

Thank you to all parents who have been using PAM or SIMON Everywhere to complete permission notes for camps and excursions. This method of parent permission is currently the only acceptable method. The school has purchased the SIMON Everywhere App for all families, parents just need to download it and set it up on a mobile device. Remember if you have any question to see Ms Ras.

If for any reason you are finding it difficult to pay school fees on time or your financial circumstances have changed please contact the school. Catholic Schools rely on school fees to help fund the educational needs of our students. A quality education can only be realised when the right resourcing and programs are in place and these come at a cost.

On Monday the 15th of May we held our annual school ‘Open Day’ and ‘Information Night’. It was an excellent opportunity to showcase our amazing school to the wider community and potential families for 2024. Thank you to the staff for their commitment to our school, demonstrated once again this week through the preparation for, presence and leadership at this Information Evening.

This is a timely reminder for any of our families who have a child coming into Foundation in 2024 to complete an enrolment form. If you email me I can send you an enrolment form- principal@sptongala.catholic.edu.au

This is also a friendly reminder to ensure your contact details (email address, phone number and address) at the school office are current and up to date.
