News from Around the School

Important Information for all families - Parking around the school

Just a reminder to abide by the parking requirements in the surrounding residential areas.

Council met with us to say that there will be Inspectors in the area in the next few weeks and they will not hesitate to fine  if the restrictions in place are not being adhered to.

Please continue to use the parking at the Skate Park as an alternative and the path directly leading to the gate at the back of the oval to walk into school.

Council has said that it might look at enforcing stricter restrictions if parking requirements continue to be an issue.

Drop offs and Pickups - Message from the Council

This is a reminder to all parents to park mindfully and adhere to the parking restrictions in nearby residential streets.

Please also look at  the sports centre car park as another option to help with congestion around the school.  Please find attached a map which shows the existing path from school to the car park.

Kind Regards,

Prep Incursion with the Local Firefighters.

Our Preps were very excited to learn all about Fire Safety with our local Firefighters.  They learnt important safety around good and bad fires, how to crawl when there is smoke and the Emergency No: 000.  I think the visit to the truck and the chance to use the fire hose was the highlight though!

Well done to all the Year 3 - 6 students who participated in the Athletics Carnival and Cross Country Trials.  Thankyou to the staff and parents who were able to help on the day.  We successfully had 24 out of 50 students who ran in the District Cross Country Event and qualified for Divisionals.  We wish them all the best on Wednesday 31st May at Presidents Park.

Concession/HealthCare Cards for Families

If you have a valid concession/healthcare card you may be eligible for a $125.00 payment, this will be applied to the camp component of your school fees.  If you have not already done so, please complete the CSEF Application Form (attached below) and email the form to fees@qopaltonameadows.catholic.edu.au along with a copy of your healthcare card.

There is however a deadline, it is fast approaching so if you could please respond ASAP that would be much appreciated.  I would not want any family to miss out on the payment.

I would like to have all the application forms by Friday 9th June 2023.

Thank you and Kind Regards

Reminder from the Office

If children are to be picked up before the end of school (for medical or dental appointments etc) parents should advise the teacher via Seesaw. Parents should report to the office and sign their child out on the iPad and the child will be called to the office. **To avoid disruption to classes could you please pick up your child  at the end of a learning session i.e. 10:50am or 1:40pm. It is the school’s preference that all appointments are made after school hours or during school holidays where possible.

Don't Forget...

Parents, you are able to view the school's google Community Calendar of events. Please ensure you check in regularly to keep up to date with school happenings. Refer to the final section of this newsletter 'Calendar & Events' for further information and the link. The QoP Community Calendar can also be accessed via the school website.
