P&C update Term 2, Week 6

Biggest Morning Tea (week 5)

Thank you to the school for hosting the Biggest Morning Tea.

Parents had a great morning, and it was lovely to see so many P&C members and have the chance to meet new P&C members at the morning tea.

Art Competition (week 5)

We are currently running our Art Competition ‘Your Happy Place’, encouraging students to get creative.

We hope to see many entries this year. Winners of the competition will receive a backpack with school logo and a special prize to go with it. The competition closes 9th June 2023 at 9.30am.

Library books (week 5)

During Week 5, a number of parents volunteered at the library and helped cover new library books.

New library books can’t be borrowed by our students until they are covered, as the covering helps protect the books and makes them longer lasting.

So, I would like to pass on our Thanks for dedicating your time to help out our school’s library. Thank you to Lan, Linh, Sarah, Tina, Linda, Kien, Lee, Sophea and Wilson.

Thank you Sophea for sharing your expertise on how to professionally cover books and to

Linda who patiently taught Wilson how to cover a book, he did a remarkable job.

Also we would like to pass on a BIG thank you to Mr B. Luxa and Ms M. Pham for having us and thank you for helping and guiding our students.

One of my favourite memories when I was at St Johns Park Public school was going to the library and a big part of that is because of our dedicated Librarians.

Updating the vegetable patch (week 5)

A huge thank you to Seda and Amber from ‘Bunnings Bonnyrigg & Bunnings Hoxton Park’ for donating all the soil and plants to help fix up and bring life to the vegetable garden.

We really appreciate the kindness you have shown to our school, and the generosity of Bunnings Bonnyrigg for donating all the supplies.

Thank you to Miss J. Le, Miss Ta and Mr Jim for cleaning up the garden beds and getting them ready for the garden class.

Thank you to Miss Ta and her class 1S for helping plant lots of lovely strawberries, beans, spinach, different types of lettuce, and a number of herbs such as thyme, parsley, basil & coriander.

We hope you all enjoyed your gardening class and have learnt a new life skill.

P&C Meeting

Our next meeting is on Wednesday 14th June at 9.30am (Term 2 - Week 8) in the school hall.

We will be discussing how to move forward with getting new playground designs on the asphalt in the Infants playground (School Markers).

When you come to the meetings, you get to hear firsthand what the school is up to, and be involved in what the P&C plans for the upcoming terms.

Paid members can vote to help decide what the P&C does, and how we spend the funds. You can always see when our next meeting is in the newsletter - either in the P&C update or the Important Dates.

Term 3

Here’s a sneak peek into what the P&C has planned for Term 3 –

  • Father’s Day Stall (week 7)
  • SASS Recognition Week  (week 7)
  • Planning and discussing details on the School Markers (Term 2, Term 3, Term 4)
  • Two P&C meetings to plan some more events for Term 4

We would also love to hear how YOU think we can all support our school community. Stay tuned to keep up to date with the P&C.

If you haven't yet joined the P&C, you can still join by emailing us at sjppspandc@gmail.com,
