Year 12 Excursion to La Trobe University

The Tertiary Information and Exploration excursion to La Trobe University for the Year 12 cohort will take place next Tuesday 30 May. Thank you to those who have already submitted their permission slips through Consent2Go. This is an important excursion for students considering further study at university next year or in the future. It is a great opportunity for students to learn more about the options available to them post secondary school. They will be able to meet with, and talk to, representatives from La Trobe University and attend seminars and workshops. It is also an opportunity to learn about how to get the most out of attendance at an Open Day.

Year 12 students are also continuing to undertake their career and course research as they contemplate their direction at the end of 2023.

Year 11 students

We are enjoying our interactions with the Year 11 students and are currently working with a small number to assist them with a change a subject for Semester 2.

Year 10 students

Term 2 is an important and exciting term in the Year 10 Careers calendar. Lots of preparation takes place to assist students so that they are able to make wise decisions in Term 3 for 2024 and beyond. Year 10 students completed the Morrisby Online program on 4 May. This program can assist students to discover more about themselves and help drive their career planning. It is an opportunity for self discovery and reflection and provides the chance for students to think about their strengths and abilities, while exploring potential career options, giving them the confidence to start taking control of their future.

Careers staff deliver two Careers classes during Life Skills lessons in Term 2 where we unpack the Morrisby and students learn about the VCE and VCE Vocational major programs, subject selection and useful careers resources. We are currently halfway through those classes and have been very impressed with the interest shown by Year 10 students and the excellent questions they have asked.
