Mother's Day Breakfast and Stall

After three years, we were finally able to enjoy the Mother's Day breakfast again. We were lucky enough to have a beautiful morning with hundreds gathered for yummy egg and bacon rolls, muffins and croissants. It was so wonderful to see after such a long time apart. 

We must thank the very generous families who helped make this event successful by donating towards catering needs and raffle prizes.

Thank you to the interact and hospitality group who worked their magic on the coffee machine and helped at the Mother’s Day stall. Your help was invaluable.

Once again, thank you to the Parents and Friends committee members and volunteers. Starting at 6am, in the dark, setting up, cooking the BBQ, assembling the rolls, serving, cleaning up and everything in between. Thank you to Sally P, Amanda P, Allison P, Angela V, Sheree H, Sibel Y, Ruby I, Francelle K and Elisa H. 

Also, thank you to all the dedicated committee members and volunteers who assisted with the Mother’s Day stall during the day as well. The primary students had a wonderful time choosing the perfect gift for Mum on Mother’s Day! Thanks to Sally P, Angela V, Stacy H, Sarah K, Elisa H, Katie H, Annabelle A, Supriya N, Lazaros I, Christy L and Ruby I. 

Cumberland Dance Party

Cumberland students, I hope you have your dance shoes ready!   The Cumberland Dance Party is not far away: Friday 2 June from 6.30pm - 8.00pm. For those new to the school or unfamiliar with this event, the Parents and Friends Association hold a dance party for Cumberland students. This is held in Common Room 1 and is supervised by staff and the Committee. It is a fabulous evening where the kids get to hang out with their friends and dance to some really great music played by our resident DJ.

Community Business Directory 2023 Fundraiser

Many families in the Aitken College community manage or own a business. Each year as a fundraiser, the Parents & Friends Association compile a Community Business Directory to provide a way in which we can support local businesses. The 2023 Business Directory commenced early in March for a twelve-month period and is advertised on the College website as well as the newsletter. Aitken families may purchase a space for $50.00 to promote and advertise their business. All money raised from this most valued fundraiser will be used by the Parents & Friends Association to improve the environment, facilities and equipment of the College to benefit our children.
