ANZAC Day:
On Anzac Day, the Mooroopna community came together for a wonderful service at the Cenetaph. School Leaders Molly Tancred and Courtney Taylor laid a wreath on behalf of the school, and other Leaders Michael Eldred and Tia Brereton read two poems. Kamali Lamba (year 9) and Jessica Eldred (year 10) also led the service in National Anthems and the Hymn 'Abide With Me'. It was a great turnout and a beautiful service.

International Women’s Day Project
In a display that further showcases the incredible students we have here at MSC, 6 students have had the opportunity to create a piece of artwork to celebrate International Women’s Day. The students involved were Caitlyn Glasson, Sera Bostancioglu, Tarnesha Jenkins and Carah Silvey-Purton of Year 9 and Cheyanne Hodges and Rhiannon Baird of Year 10. Together with Mimi Leung and Lauren Baker they worked to create a piece of artwork that met a structured design brief that encapsulates the importance of women in today’s society. Mimi is an innovative and dynamic young artist in the local area whilst Lauren is a local social worker and a member of the International Women’s Day committee which is an initiative of the City of Greater Shepparton Council. The artwork the students produced over the course of 4 workshops is now featured on the side of the Shepparton Night Rider bus, and perfectly captures the importance of gender equality and acceptance. Caitlyn and Sera were selected to represent the school at the International Women’s Day celebratory dinner where the final design was launched and celebrated amongst a large crowd.
All of the students who participated were very grateful and appreciative of the experience of working with an experienced artist and creating a piece of artwork that they can be proud of for many years to come. Each student had an amazing and enjoyable experience and would like to thank Mimi and Lauren for their time and kindness. We would also like to thank the City of Greater Shepparton Council for this opportunity and their support throughout the project. These fine young adults should also be commended for their work in completing the project and producing an incredible piece of art that supports the nation-wide push for gender equality and acceptance.
