From the Classroom

Visit from Murrundindi, an Indigenous elder of the Wurundjeri People to our Year 4 students

From Hilary, Year 4 teacher

During the last two weeks Year Four students have travelled back in time to identify the cause and effects of European settlement in Australia. We have been exploring the books The Rabbits and Young Dark Emu through Drama and the study of Australian history.

Students have been writing about their ‘time travel’ experiences through diary entries, taking on the role of a Professor of History.

We were also lucky enough to have a visit from Murrundindi, an Indigenous elder of the Wurundjeri People. Students enjoyed learning about the history and culture of the Kulin Nation.
