Calrossy buses from WCC to BSC at the end of the day

At the end of the school day, Calrossy buses which transport students from WCC to Brisbane Street Campus via Simpson House are predominantly for boarders and those with pre-approved permission. There has been an ongoing issue of an afternoon with day students getting on the buses from WCC to BSC. When students do this it creates problems as there are not enough seats and the bus then has to make a double run just to get the boarders back to the respective campuses (Simpson and BSC). Students are to catch their normal town bus home, most of which pass by the Brisbane street Campus, and should be able to obtain a free bus pass if they live the required distance from school. Please email Alex New on alex.new@calrossy.nsw.edu.au who can apply for one on your behalf. If day students do not have permission they may be refused entry on the Calrossy buses and will need to catch their usual (or another) town bus.

In relation to morning and afternoon pick up, we would like to remind parents to follow the procedures that have been put in place for the safety of our students. If you are picking up your child from kiss and drop please wait in line and do not overtake any other cars picking up from this lane. Cars are not to drive through the bus lane between 8:00am and 8:45am and between 2:30pm and 3:30pm. It would be most helpful if you are picking up your child from the Secondary Campus that you use the gravel carpark and exit through the top lane.

Parent Information Nights

Reminder: Parents of Year 9 and 10 students that their Parent Information evening is on tonight from 6.30pm at the William Cowper Hall.

This is a great chance to hear about what your son and daughter is doing this year and meet with teachers.

The Parent Information Evening for Year 11 and 12 is on Monday, February 24 at 6.30pm on the Brisbane Street Campus.

Attention Parents of Boarders and students on Permanent Lunch Orders

Calrossy has streamlined the provision of money to boarders and those on permanent lunch orders during off-site activities.

The School has decided to eliminate the payment of meal money to these students and replace with a $5.00/meal (breakfast, lunch or dinner) refund (credit) to family accounts, which matches the current cost of our average boarding meals and/or the daily lunches.

Therefore, when these students travel away on a School trip they will need to provide their own money to buy food and drinks. It won’t impact the meals that are already provided as part of an excursion by the School.

There is no need for you to do anything to access the refund to your family account. This will happen when a marked attendance list is provided to Finance following the excursion.
