Contact with College Counsellors

<

We hope everyone enjoyed the holidays and are continuing to stay safe. We can understand if you’re feeling a bit worried at the moment, when some things are changing day to day.

We, the College Counsellors, (Tamara Shoemark and Aimee Cook) will be providing phone counselling sessions. Appointments will be available from 9:00pm – 3:30pm, Monday to Friday. Appointments can be made via contacting your Leader of Student Care, or via our email at mccthrive@arm.catholic.edu.au. We will then send a confidential form for you to complete to determine level of need, urgency and details. From here we will email your school email address and provide you with additional information and arrange a phone appointment.

The sessions will work by completing the form, which will include your mobile number. We will then contact you on a private number, so if you miss the call you cannot call us back. If this happens, we will call you back in 10 minutes. If you are unable to answer, we will send an email to renegotiate a time.

Important things to consider:

Privacy: Make sure you are in a private place for your session. The counsellor will take all reasonable steps to ensure they protect your privacy from their end.

Distractions: Please minimize distractions during your session. This includes not playing games, sending messages or other activities during your session.

Confidentiality and Safety: As always, discussions with the college counsellor are confidential. We do not share any information with other students or teachers. However, if at any time the counsellor is concerned that you are hurting yourself, hurting someone else, or someone else is hurting you, then the appropriate professional services will be contacted, including the College Principal. Parents may also be contacted in this situation.

These services all provide counselling by phone and via text chat:
