Prayer & Reflection

5 May 2020 marks the anniversary of Blessed Edmund Rice, founder of the Christian Brothers, who worked alongside the Dominican Sisters to establish Catholic education in Tamworth. This prayer was inspired by Dante Reverr and Gabriel Quiambao (Yr 7 2019) and is part of our MCC Prayer Walk.

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank you for giving the world Blessed Edmund Rice.

Thank you for instilling in him the desire to nourish the hearts and minds of poor boys in Ireland through good Catholic education.

Thank you for inspiring him to establish the Christian Brothers who came to Australia and then to Tamworth to provide young people in rural areas with quality Catholic education. 

May we be inspired to follow his example of love and compassion for the poor and use the learning we receive here to make the world a better place for all.

We ask you to grant this prayer through Christ our Lord. Amen

Our Lady of the Rosary. Pray for us.
