CURRICULUM REPORT

CURRICULUM REPORT

Hello again to our wonderful parent community.  It is hard to believe 2017 has come and nearly gone so quickly.  I have listed below some important information linked to our curriculum to be aware of in the near future:

Semester #2 Reports:

The semester #2 reports reflect achievement at a point in time for each student’s learning. Your child has been placed at a point on the continuum that most accurately reflects their level of achievement.  All students’ achievement has been recorded using the scoring range A to 11.0.  Learning occurs incrementally along the learning continuum, however, the rate and pace of learning is not fixed or constant.  It is recognised that there may be plateaus and even setbacks as different children learn at different rates.

Using these scores supports the monitoring of your child’s progress along the learning continuum.

The reports will be available to view online via COMPASS on Thursday December 21st at 3pm.  If you are having difficulty downloading the report, please do not hesitate to contact the front office and we will be able to assist you.

2018 Communities:

We are currently concentrating on 2018 community set ups by placing students within these spaces.  We take into account gender sets and friendships to help form these groups.  We will be communicating to all families of your child’s placement / community teachers on Wednesday December 20th via a letter home.

2018 Meet And Greet:

The home school partnership is a very important one as it bridges our students’ two most important worlds together.  Throughout the 2018 school year, we will continue to look at many ways to engage our families as we focus on student achievement. One such way will be the Meet and Greet process in term one. As your child embarks on their next year of learning, it is timely for parents, teachers and students to come together to share and prepare for the year ahead by touching base in a ten minute meeting time. It is a requirement that all parents will attend the Meet & Greet sessions.

The P-2 night will be Monday February 5th and the 3-6 night will be on Tuesday February 6th.  More information is to come about this process before the end of the year.

On a final note, I wish all of our families a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.  We are looking forward to seeing you all again next year and a special ‘Best of Luck’ to all of our departing Grade Six students as you all commence the next phase of your education.

Kind regards and thank you for your ongoing support.
