Around The Primary

Dear Parents

The Pre-Primary was abuzz with excitement on Monday as the students engaged with the most amazing selection of hands-on and engaging activities with their Mothers. We thank the Pre-Primary staff for their hard work in co-ordinating this marvellous morning.

I hope all families enjoyed a special day last Sunday for Mother’s Day and the Mums particularly enjoyed receiving the special handmade cards and gifts from their children. These were made with love and it was a joy to hear some of the stories about how families spent time together over the weekend. We hope you can now spend a few minutes enjoying this lovely presentation prepared by Miss Saraco (1G Teacher).

The Year 6 students are heading off to Canberra early on Monday morning with Miss Graves, Miss Nish, Ms Allen, Mr Fromm, Mrs Gardner, Mr Hauer and myself.

Their families will receive regular updates all next week, following the adventures of our students and staff as they explore Canberra. This is a wonderful learning opportunity for our students and I am sure the students will return with many stories and filled with great knowledge to apply to their studies.

We would like to thank the Australian Government for contributing towards the travel expenses incurred under the Parliament and Civics Education Rebate programme

Children in Years 3 and 5 completed the NAPLAN tests this week which they managed with confidence and maturity. The students coped very well and certainly tried their best. Results from these tests will be sent to parents later in the year.

Thank you to Miss Nish and 6B for a well prepared and entertaining assembly item. It was great to find out more about the content the students have covered in the various learning areas.

Well done to all the students and parents who participated in National Walk Safely to School Day. Research shows children who are regularly physically active are healthier and often perform better academically. It is hoped parents will encourage their children to walk regularly to school as this is the best exercise to build into a daily routine.

Kind regards
