There were many outstanding entries for the inaugural John XXIII College Short Story Writing competition run by the Magis committee.

WORLD SCHOLARS TEAMS

The World Scholars teams are now preparing for this auspicious event at Sacred Heart College on 1 and 2 June.

 

Permission forms must be returned no later than next Wednesday. John XXIII College  has 21 students participating in seven teams from Years 7, 9 and 10.

 

Other news

Meanwhile students in the Year 7 and 8  Magis option this semester are currently dividing their class time between  an introduction to philosophy  and an International Baccalaureate style personal project. The projects from all three classes will be displayed in the library in the final week of term.

 

The current Magis Academic Challenge, Mental Mathematics, is happening at present and results for all years will be in next week’s newsletter.
