Instrumtenal and Vocal Music Lessons online
To align with the College’s move to online learning, instrumental and vocal music lessons will be taking place through Microsoft Teams from Tuesday, 28 April (Day 1, Term 2).
Students have been added to their associated instrumental Team and will receive their Term 2 timetables on Monday, 27 April via email from Mrs Katherine Freind (Performing Arts Administration Assistant). Students are asked not to post anything on the General channel as that will be used solely for the video lessons. Questions for tutors should be made through the normal communication by parents.
It is important for students to remember the following for online lessons:
- MUST be wearing appropriate attire or College PE uniform for their lessons
- MUST be positioned in a common area of your house (NOT in your bedroom)
- MUST be polite and appropriate while using MS Teams – including what you say and type
Parents are asked to make immediate contact with their tutors to organise payment for Term 2 lessons OR if they wish to withdraw their child from Term 2 lessons. This has a significant impact on timetabling, so please ensure that this is done as quickly as possible to avoid being taken off the Term 2 timetable.
A majority of tutors will be offering make-ups for lessons missed from the end of Term 1 when students physically return to the College at a later date. Some tutors may however offer make-up lessons throughout the school holidays through MS Teams, and this is at the discretion of the tutor who will liaise directly with parents.
I am excited about this move towards online music lessons and look forward to a continuation in musical learning for the students. Please do not hesitate to contact me via email (cbeins@norbert.wa.edu.au) or through Direqt Message if you have any queries.
