Returning to School

RETURN TO ONSITE LEARNING

As the Victorian Health Minister has instructed state schools to resume face-to-face teaching as of Monday 1 November 2021, Murrumbeena Primary School is committed to protect the broad school community by requesting that all families observe the same guidelines.

Some members of our community are at risk of developing more severe symptoms of common respiratory and digestive tract viruses, including, but not limited to, COVID-19, influenza and gastroenteritis.

In order to minimise the spread of infection, we need the whole community to understand the importance of keeping your children at home if they are unwell and they must not return to school until all symptoms have ceased.

If your child develops any sign of illness whist they are at school, we will request that you or an adult nominated by you, collect the child from school as soon as possible.

If the nature of your employment prevents you from collecting your child during school hours, we recommend that you nominate other adults that you trust to collect your child when needed.

If your child displays any of these signs and symptoms of illness (the list is not exhaustive), please keep them home (even if symptoms ease after a dose of paracetamol/Ibuprofen as the symptoms are likely to return after 3-4 hours and your child could still be infectious):

• Persistent runny nose • Persistent coughing • Sore throat • Earache • Body/muscle ache • Sore tummy • Fever (37.5) • Vomiting • diarrhoea • Skin rash/non hives • Fatigue

If you have any questions or concerns about the present communication, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Thank you for your continued support and cooperation.
