Acting Principal

Dear College Families and Friends,

It is amazing to think that we are at the end of Term 3, and what a different Term 3 it has been? Our students should be proud of their collective efforts this term. Remote learning has been challenging, yet when we think about all that has been undertaken this term, I hope that students are proud of what they have achieved; that they recognise their perseverance and tenacity, their growing independence and most of all the ways they and their teachers have kept on going each and every day throughout remote learning. Thank you to families for the many ways that you have supported your daughter/son this term.

It was pleasing to welcome Year 12 students back to school last week, there has been an energy and re-focus for our senior students in their final weeks of secondary school.

It was delightful for our College Community to hear that Mr John Freeman has been appointed as principal of Mary MacKillop Catholic Regional College from January 2022. John is currently principal of Lavalla Catholic College, Traralgon. John will be included in key aspects of the planning for 2022.

In thinking ahead, I’d want our community to know that programs and plans for Term 4 will be guided by Government guidelines.  Any changes will be communicated to families before the term begins.

Finally, thank you to all parents/guardians for your ongoing support of College staff in their work with your children. I hope that the forthcoming school holidays provide opportunities for rest, renewal and fun times for all MMCRC families.
